The house has been around a long time in one form or another. The first ever
people would build them out of their surroundings. Leaves, sticks, mud, etc. Back then they were just a place to take shelter from the weather and large animals, but now houses are for much more. They are used as a place to decorate in specific ways that are pleasing to the eye. Now houses are made out of wood, brick, metal, and many other things that weren't available to the ancient people. With the advancement of technology houses have grown in size and are now a lot more safe. Houses are now specifically designed to withstand harsh weather, and a house for a family of four today could hold probably 20 plus people in the past. Apartment buildings are just very large houses made to house hundreds of people at one time. There are some people that still build and live in mud houses today, sometimes because they have to, but also because they want to.
