Google is the new crack

SketchUp is a 3D modeling program designed for professional architects, civil engineers, filmmakers, game developers, and related professions. You can use this to make models, scale buildings, shapes, and much more. I have Sketchup on my computer at home and have made a scale model of my kitchen and an edited version of my kitchen that my mom wanted me to make. I have also created houses, whether it be for school projects or not. Two Years ago I had to use this program in school. Sketchup is able to be linked with Google Earth so that you can create a 3D model of a real life building in Sketchup and upload it directly into Google Earth so that people around the world with Google Earth can see what that building looks like; the building uploads right where it is in real life onto the digital globe in Google Earth. Google Sketchup uses a variety of tools such as Line, Arc, Freehand, Rotate, Push/Pull, Circle, Polygon, Rectangle, and 3D Text tools in order to ctreate images. You can also use the program to create things such as cars or other items that engineers work to create.

White on Blue

Blueprints are a key feature in the field of architecture. They are the actual visual for the design of a building that tells opthers how to build the building properly. A blueprint is a type of paper-based reproduction usually of a technical drawing, documenting an architecture or an engineering design. The blueprint process is essentially the cyanotype process developed by the British astronomer and photographer Sir John Herschel in 1842. The photosensitive compound, a solution of ferric ammonium citrate and potassium ferricyanide, is coated onto paper. Areas of the compound exposed to strong light are converted to insoluble blue ferric ferrocyanide, or Prussian blue. The soluble chemicals are washed off with water leaving a light-stable print.

Take your shoes off at the door

The house has been around a long time in one form or another. The first ever people would build them out of their surroundings. Leaves, sticks, mud, etc. Back then they were just a place to take shelter from the weather and large animals, but now houses are for much more. They are used as a place to decorate in specific ways that are pleasing to the eye. Now houses are made out of wood, brick, metal, and many other things that weren't available to the ancient people. With the advancement of technology houses have grown in size and are now a lot more safe. Houses are now specifically designed to withstand harsh weather, and a house for a family of four today could hold probably 20 plus people in the past. Apartment buildings are just very large houses made to house hundreds of people at one time. There are some people that still build and live in mud houses today, sometimes because they have to, but also because they want to.

Empire State

The Empire State Building was tallest building in the world for over 40 years. Because of its size, it has been featured in many movies over the years, including King Kong and Home Alone 2. It was named by the American Society of Civil Engineers as one of the 7 wonders of the modern world. In 1945, the Empire State Building was hit by an airplane, by accident; the pilot was flying in thick fog. Also, because of its great height, the building has been the sight of over 30 suicides. The observation deck was fenced in after five people tried to jump in a three week span. One woman jumped out of a window on the 86th floor only to blown back into the building on the 86th floor. The Empire State Building rises to 1,250 feet at the 102nd floor, and including the 203-foot pinnacle, its full height reaches 1453 feet. The Empire State Building was the first building to have more than 100 floors. It has 6,500 windows and 73 elevators, and there are 1,860 steps from street level to the 102nd floor. It has a total floor area of 2,768,591 square feet. The base of the Empire State Building is about 2 acres. The building houses 1,000 businesses, and has its own zip code, 10118.

What happens when you eat your greens

The Burj Dubai is going to be the world's tallest tower. Located in Dubai, like the Burj Al Arab, the Burj Dubai will surpass the Taipei 101, the current tallest building, by far. It has long been thought that the Empire State Building was the tallest building in the world, but that hasn't been so since 1972. Since 1972 the Empire State Building has been surpassed in hight by the World Trade Center, the Sears Tower, the Petronas Twin Towers, and the Taipei 101 Tower. The Burj Dubai's arhcitect is Adrian Smith, an American who has designed many skyscrapers before. The construction of the Burj Dubai will make this building the tallest in the world, surpassing the Taipei by about 300m.

Ancient Marvel:Leaning Tower(i did that)

Built in 1173, the Leaning Tower of Pisa is said to be constructed by Guglielmo and Bonanno Pisano, two Italian architects. The tower only leans because of a poorly laid foundation and loose substrate, causing the tower to lean southwest.
